Ingredients
1 Beef Tongue
Enough water to cover tongue in a slow cooker
Preparation
Rinse tongue under cool water
Cut into 3-4 pieces
Place in a slow cooking pot
Cover with cool water
Place on a low cook (mine is set at a 2 ½-3)
Cook for 8-10 hours until tender
Remove tongue from slow cooker, place on plate
Cool a little so that you can handle tongue without burning your fingers
While tongue is cooling pour beef broth into a sieve which is placed over a metal bowl
Pour hot broth into glass jars seal jars (you can use a bowl instead if you wish)
Leave on counter until cool, refrigerate
Using a sharp knife peal the tough skin off of the tongue
Discard skin
Place cleaned tongue in a container with lid, cool and refrigerate
Or
Cut up and serve or fry in some fat and serve
